Resumen Ejecutivo
Three questions a grower and an agronomist ask of one field every week: is the soil wetter or drier than normal, how has the season run against a normal year, and does any disease the crop is exposed to cross its published action level in the next two weeks. Each is answered from open data with published models, and the soil moisture reading is scored against public ground probes.
Hallazgos Metodológicos Clave
Seven published weather-driven disease models are documented with their sources, and five ran live against a 61 ha Kansas corn field on 6 October 2026 across corn, soybean and potato.
The season brief reads heat, cold, rain and drought against the normal year on a single page.
On a Kansas corn pivot in 2026 the season brief counted 53 days at or above 35 °C, against a 10-year normal of 27.8.
Soil moisture is reported as an anomaly against the field’s own multi-year normal and scored against USDA NRCS SCAN probes at ten stations in six states.
Física y Metodología de Inversión
Soil moisture comes from the ERA5-Land reanalysis, with a field-scale pattern from Sentinel-1 radar anchored to the coarse cell. Season totals are built from daily ERA5 temperature and rain. Each disease model reads the field’s own 16-day forecast and trailing weather, exactly as its published paper or tool specifies.
