Hydrocarbon Microseepage
Bleached redbeds and secondary carbonate above petroleum basins, reported as indicators rather than as a detection.
Surface alteration patterns above petroleum basins, reported as indicators rather than as a find.

Bleached redbed and epigenetic carbonate patterns of the kind associated with hydrocarbon microseepage.
WHAT THE SENSOR SEES
What this layer looks for.
The laboratory reference for each material, and what the sensor's band spacing captures of it. The shaded band marks the range the method reads.
WHAT IT FINDS
What it detects.
| Material | Typical setting | What can confuse it |
|---|---|---|
| Epigenetic Bleaching & Carbonate Minerals | Sedimentary basins over oil and gas reservoir traps | Agricultural lime spreading and modern sedimentary evaporites |
METHOD
How it works.
Calibrated reflectance goes in, and every pixel is fitted against a public reference library.
Ferric depletion mapping
Measures iron absorption depth across a stratigraphic unit, so bleaching shows as a deficit against that unit's own background rather than against an absolute number.
Epigenetic carbonate extraction
Picks out localised secondary carbonate inside the bleached ground.
Drainage and modern-soil filtering
Alluvial channels and recent soils are removed using elevation-derived drainage, since both produce the same two signals for entirely mundane reasons.
Co-occurrence, not a score
The two layers are shown together, and where they coincide. They stay separate rather than being folded into one score, because two independent indicators are more useful read side by side.
SPECIFICATIONS
What you get, and what it runs on.
Conditions it needs
Method and checks are documented in Axine Applied Spectroscopy Paper #2 · Section 5.2.
Scope
An indicator layer only. The same surface patterns occur without hydrocarbons beneath them.
RUN IT OVER YOUR GROUND
Run this layer over your own area.
Order processing over your area of interest, or a tasked capture where the archive has nothing usable. Imagery access is never charged for: a plan buys the models.
COMPLEMENTARY ANALYTICS

Methane Plume Detection
Column enhancement over oil and gas facilities. Reviewed public plume products pass through with their provenance, and our own filter runs alongside as screening.

Geothermal Cap Mapping
Finds active and fossil reservoir caps through ammonium minerals, alunite and silica sinter.

Pipeline Corridor Terrain Stability
Tracks swelling clays and moisture along a corridor, so crews go where the ground actually moved.
