Shipments and statements

A shipment groups the plots and harvest blocks one consignment draws on, with its commercial facts. It produces a shipment report and a due diligence statement assembled against the Commission’s schema, which you file from your own TRACES account.

For the person who files the due diligence statement at an operator or trader, and for wood importers placing timber first on the EU market.

01 · The order

What you send, and what comes back

You send

  • The consignment’s reference, commodity, HS code, quantity and destination member state
  • The plots it draws on: by plot, by reference, or every plot of a producer
  • For wood, the species by scientific and common name

You receive

  • A shipment report PDF: every plot with its state and next step, counts across the batch, open cases and sources
  • A last page that lays out the statement’s fields in the Information System’s order, with anything missing named
  • For wood, harvest block pages in the Information System’s wood field order
  • The statement as JSON, XML or GeoJSON, with a place to record the TRACES reference once filed

02 · How it is read

From the open archive to the record

  1. 01

Nothing here files on your behalf. The statement is assembled and checked, and the filing stays with you.

  2. 02

Each plot’s line in the report comes from its evidence document, so the report and the documents cannot disagree.

Send us ten flagged plots

Send the boundaries of ten plots your screen flagged. The record comes back within 48 hours as a PDF with the layers, each plot with its finding or its reason and next step.
